Dear praying friends,

After anticipating it for 2 years, working at the La Veta Rodeo Bible Camp finally happened. Imagine some tough professional rodeo cowboys & cowgirls taking their time & showing up in one place to teach some kids the various events of this great sport. If you are familiar with rodeo that's not too hard to imagine - that is one thing they are known for - helping each other do better in their events. Loaning horses, saddles, gear, even boots, - "see if this will help you do better". But then add in that as believers in Jesus for their salvation, sold out to Him with a burning desire to share Jesus with others and help them succeed in their walk with Him,- you have a Rodeo Bible Camp. Many hours of throwing ropes, riding bulls & wrestling steers - landing in the dirt, going round & round the barrels, & digging into God's word. Boys in old army tents, girls in the show barn. No bunks - here's your piece of ground. You could tell the ones that it wasn't their first "rodeo" Bible camp - they brought the fluffy air mattresses.

Mary worked in the kitchen helping prepare 3 delicious meals a day - and man did she and the others work. They make ol' Charlie Wooster look like he was just along for the scenic tour. (Only you "Wagon Train" fans will remember him). She also made lots of new friends & encouraged many.

I helped mostly in the shooting sports events, but was often collared to help in the kitchen ( "don't leave the shell in the eggs" & "make how much orange juice"), take out trash, stock bathrooms with TP etc, stand in as the roping "dummy" (just kidding), & amateur medic ("can't believe how far that arrow fletching went into your hand"). The best job I got was to get to spend time with some of the kids & instructors - getting to know them, talk with them, & encourage them.

We are hoping to get the names of the kids that live in our area, and get together with them during the year for Bible study, encouragement, sometimes just talking & listening, & cheering them as they compete in their Lil Britches & high school rodeos.

The same day camp started I had the privilege of speaking at a father - son cookout at Grace Community Bible Church in Pueblo. Had a great time with these guys, eating, playing horseshoes, & looking in God's word.

Praise report - we did get our store building sold!!!!     :^)

Prayer needs -

1. Our house is still on the market. We would really like to get this move finished & be able to have our full attention on the reason we are here.
2. We will be speaking at Jr High camp at Homestead Bible Camp next month.
3. Aguilar & Gulnare  an area we are praying about that has lots of needs.
4. The kids that received help at camp & the ones coming to camp.

Thank you so much for your prayer and/or  financial support. Someday the people we minister to will get to thank you- the people who make this possible.  God is moving & Satan is the loser.

Blessings to you!
